Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien

 

This is a historical park where Brunei declared its independence in 1984, and today it serves as a large stadium for festive occasions, and includes a group of gardens to commemorate the change of the city’s name to Bandar Seri Begawan.

Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien located in the center of Bandar Seri Begawan is a park where national ceremonies take place such as the Birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, National Day, Musbaqah Reading Al -Quran, Celebration of Maulud Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam and so on. In accordance with its use for large ceremonies, this park also has two stages made of concrete next to the flower garden as an effort to beautify and beautify the area and also the capital.Previously, this park was known as Padang Besar, after it was renovated and beautified in 1983, it was renamed Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in conjunction with taking the name of AlMarhum Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien. This park is also a historic place because this is also where the Declaration of Independence of Brunei Darussalam took place on January 1, 1984.
