Zainab Mosque is the only mosque in the lumut area. It was inaugurated by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah on 22 May 1998. It can accommodate 2,000 worshippers. The mosque was constructed by a private individual and then turned up to the religious department for upkeep. There is a story the builder of this mosque was a wealthy man from Seria who had lost his daughter while she was studying in the United Kingdom
